Software Engineer


* Collaborate with product owners and other application developers to design, code (full stack) and maintain high quality, mission critical applications against established process in a SCRUM team setting.

* Work as part of Agile SCRUM teams to create software that powers our industry-leading DNA sequencing devices

* Deliver software architecture, designs, and implementations

* Participate in all aspects of our Agile development process, from sprint planning to daily scrum meetings and sprint demos

* Create and execute unit tests to verify functionality

* Troubleshoot and resolve software defects

* Contribute to software design reviews and code reviews

* Collaborate with test engineers, systems analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to create a robust product that suits the users’ needs

* Learn and have fun with some of the smartest people you’ll ever meet!


* Demonstrated coding experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, or C++ (C# preferred)

* Experience with the .NET Framework, WPF, and XAML for Windows Applications

* Experience in developing web applications with JS, HTML and CSS.

* Experience with client-side MVC frameworks (such as AngularJS, React)

* Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL

* Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

* Proven experience architecting and developing customer-facing applications

* Experience in control software / hardware integration

* Experience writing software for real-time applications on instruments or devices is a plus

* Able to write robust code that meets product requirements while being lean, maintainable, unit tested, and easy to understand

* Strong communicator with a willingness to both learn and teach others

* Self-starter mentality that can thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment

* Basic knowledge of Agile SCRUM methodologies is a plus

* Experience in biotech is a plus


* B.S/M.S degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
