Ag Retail Strategic Account Manager

As the Ag Retail Strategic Account Manager, you will be accountable for creating and defining the vision and long-term goals for Strategic Ag Retail customer(s) in the US CFN Business.

This position will identify and maximize opportunities for the customer(s) and within defined area of scope (i.e.

Portfolio of Products/Services, Sales Practice Area/category, etc.) and lead our relationship with the account including buyers and leaders within the customer organization.

This includes building, developing, and maintaining internal/external key account relationships; researching and identifying customer’s needs; partnering with internal Strategic Marketing, Technology, Customer Service (Order to Cash)/Plant Operations (Manufacturing and Service), and Risk Management and Sourcing functions to ultimately create and propose solutions.

This role will not only identify solutions, but will present recommendations to the key account and drive the structure of the proposal and negotiation of pricing and execute account contracts, as well as setting targets, reviewing performance, sharing and measuring results.

This role will be the voice of the customer internally to cross functional teammates to help support our growth, leadership, engagement and team performance and navigating internally to deliver value to Cargill and our customer as well as responsible for leading teammates (dedicated to account management, store operations, inside sales and/or customer account relationship team).

Principal Accountabilities:

40% Build, Develop and maintain key account relationships: which includes enhancing the overall success of the customer relationships by delivering highly significant business/financial impact for the customer and for Cargill.

Identifies/builds relationships with a broad set of key gatekeepers, influencers, and decision-makers to ensure that growth goals, financial targets and investments for both Cargill and the customer are exceeded through a greater understanding of the customers’ needs and enhancing CFN’s value proposition.


* Influences, leverages and builds relationships with all levels within the customer’s organization (including buyers, supply chain, senior/key stakeholders); Establishes and oversees alignment amongst multiple levels of stakeholders, with a focus on mutually beneficial outcomes that create shared values, expectations, and goals.

This includes delivery process coordination across multi-functional, matrixed, or integrated connections (i.e.

zippered relationships) that consist of decision makers both externally (i.e.

customer leaders) and internal to Cargill (i.e.

cross functional business leadership, etc.)


* Oversees/monitors the customer relationship for continuous value creation and optimization.

Collaborates/partners with SMT, BOSC and RMS to deliver valuable solutions.
