In this important role you willÂ support the Executive Housekeeper .Â This person is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, including managing inventory and purchasingÂ , managing Â scheduling, PNL knowledge and inventoryÂ , employee relations, union grievances, WSIB and STD return to work case files , health and safety .
Â This role is responsible for organizing work to ensure proper coverage whileÂ communicating and enforcing policies and procedures.Â Â
You will ensure all staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties and schedule routine inspections of guest rooms and public area as you respond to guest complaints/compliments and execute the special eneds of VIP guests.Â Annually, you will participate in the development of the department budget and financial plans.
Job requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent plus four years housekeeping/laundry supervisor or equivalent .Â Â Experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience.Â Â Hospitality degree or University degreeÂ , or College education preferred.Â Â The ability to speak , write communicate in English with additionalÂ languages preferred.Â You mayÂ be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.Exceptional computer skills required.
Proficient in excel,powerpoint,word.
Previous experience with collective agreements and managing within a unionized environment, Opera ,HOTSOS ,ADP and ordering systems preferred strong computer and organizational skills required.
This job requires ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200 pounds and requires frequently standing up and moving about the facility,Â handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility and frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling.
