Global Buyer Amino Acids Americas
Position Purpose & Summary
The Global Buyer manages development and implementation of a global sourcing strategy for a category
of micro ingredients, in conjunction with the Global Lead Buyer.
This role is responsible
for identifying, creating, and capturing value from competitive advantages emerging from Cargillâ€™s
global scale and market insights.
The position has accountability for achieving hard capture targets
for the category.
Leads global supplier contact for strategic negotiations, and provides direction to
guide negotiations of select ingredients supported by Regional Sourcing Leads (RSLs) and Local RMS.
Develops insights that link together value creation activities initiated by SMT and works
with RSLs and Regional RMS Directors on deployment and assessing local commercial viability.
Manages global communication of market intelligence for category.
Offers real-time global market
intelligence and pricing direction to Ingredient (resell) Business.
Works with Global Supply Chain
to ensure timely supply of raw materials.
Accountable for establishing central supplier rebates
and/or preferred supplier contracts.
This position will be part of CANâ€™s Risk Management and Sourcing function, an entity that supports our
internal customers in the Cargill Feed & Nutrition, Cargill Premix & Nutrition and Cargill Aqua & Nutrition
business units as well as Cargill Protein businesses.
Interaction with local, business group and enterprise leadership with CAN and CPS, as well as external
strategic market participants.

Ability to travel 10-15% of the time domestically and globally.
30% Category Expertise: Develop global expertise for Amino Acids within micro categories in area of responsibility.
Synthesis of all technical, economic and Macro Ingredient drivers of Amino Acids, in all global markets, specifically in the Americas.
Develop relationships with key business partners and understand both regional and global competitive dynamics.
Create global sourcing strategies that leverage CANâ€™s leading market position to establish a competitive advantage in marketplace.
Lead category contract negotiation with global and regional suppliers.
Develop good understanding and feeling of the market and demonstrate agility to decide best time to price contracts.
Communicate detailed market intelligence with appropriate audiences to support commercial approach according to customer segment, competitive positioning, and market trends.
20% Deploy Global Sourcing Strategy: Align with Regional Sourcing Leads and Local RMS to develop a dynamic global micro ingredient sourcing strategy that optimizes value creation for Cargill, through ensuring long-term local competitiveness of regional businesses.
