DRS Naval Power Systems (NPS) a multi-site operation responsible for $350 million of revenue with locations in Milwaukee, WI, Bridgeport/Danbury, CT, Fitchburg, MA, and High Ridge, MO with an employee base of approximately 900 employees.

Position Summary

Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget.  Ensure design compliance with all project requirements.  Design, Develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities


* Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget


* Ensure design compliance with all project requirements


* Design, Develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems


* Ability to independently lead a team of engineers to complete a complex project or projects.


* Review customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable 


* Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments


* Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required


* Participate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals


* Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress


* Lead a project team or teams as assigned


* Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings


* Mentor and coach less experienced engineers


* Other duties as assigned


* Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

Basic Qualifications


* Master’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience
