Title: Lab Engineering Technician

Job Location: Manassas, VA

 
Position Summary: Support system software and hardware test and integration tasks/or hands-on tasks.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Lab Engineering Technician is responsible for performing tasks as directed which includes the following but is not limited to these tasks:


* Work independently on daily technical tasking.


* Supports troubleshooting of system/lab test equipment and hardware.


* Familiarity with the laboratory environment and supporting equipment (multi-meter, oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies).


* Assists in the build and/or procurement of new or improved test fixtures, system cabling, system connectors, server hardware, and network switch hardware.


* Under direction, responsible for completing process documentation, bill of materials, and inventory lists.


* Move lab hardware, build and configure test cables, and install system hardware as directed by engineering.


* Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified electrical and/or mechanical components or assemblies for products


* Assists in the development of lab space layouts, test methods and process improvements


* Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

Basic Qualifications:


* High School diploma or GED


* Must be able to obtain/maintain secret security clearance


* Must be able to access ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and Controlled Unclassified Information


* Technical knowledge of engineering documents including engineering drawings, parts lists, and bills of material


* Experience with basic hand tools and lab equipment 

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:


* Associate’s Degree in an Engineering/Technical related discipline (Electronics, Engineering Technologies, etc.) preferred


* Active or Inactive Secret Security Clearance preferred


* Previous Military experience preferred


* Strong customer service experience preferred


* Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude


* Good interpersonal communication skills

 

Physical Requirements:


* Lifting up to 25 lbs.

* Walking up to 25% of time


* Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping: up to 10% of time


* Must be willing to travel up to 10% of time
