The Trusts & Estates Paralegal is responsible for providing paralegal support and assistance to supervising attorneys and paralegals in all aspects of trusts & estates.   Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.  Duties to include but not limited to the following.


Prepare and file business entity formations, qualifications, dissolutions and withdrawals.

Prepare and coordinate timely and accurate annual report filings and charts.

Create, organize and maintain a database of all corporate entities. 

Create, organize and maintain corporate minutes, corporate minute books and electronic corporate records.

Prepare and file IRS Form SS-4 to obtain employer identification number.

Establish system to track dates for all corporate minutes.

Complete investment questionnaires and comply with due diligence requests for various client investments.

Assist with organization of closing documentation.

Coordinate document retrieval under the supervision of the supervising attorneys and paralegals.

Maintain electronic versions of all minute books using pdf's of executed documents.

Develop system for tracking documents that are sent to clients for execution.

Maintain hard copy files of all transactional documentation relating to each entity.

Maintain up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing.


Bachelor’s degree and one or more years related experience preferably in a law firm environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited paralegal program a plus.

Computer proficient with experience and working knowledge of Internet research, due diligence, Excel, Outlook, and MS Word a must.

Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information.  Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish information in report format, written correspondence, e‑mail, or verbally.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.  Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts.
