Regional Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Manager

Principal Accountabilities

* Accountable for the implementation of Food & Feed Safety Management programs (including PRP and HACCP) in line with Cargill and certification (FSSC 22000, GMP+…) requirements.


* Responsible for creating and maintaining a Food Safety culture by training, postings, site tours.

* Responsible for reporting and accountable for follow up of near misses through Product Safety Alerts including RCA and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.

* Accountable for setting up and maintaining systems to improve plant hygiene, environmental program and GMP- 60%

* Reduce repeat customer complaints by analyzing trends, drive root cause analysis investigations and maintain 

* records for the customer incident management process.

* Support Product and Customer Specification Management.

* Accountable for up-to-date customer FSQR related information available.

* Prepare and own customer audits including preparation and follow up actions.- 10%

* Prepare and own internal and external audits and ensure close out of actions arising from these audits ensuring certifications are maintained for all plants in the region.


* Accountable for adequate monthly reporting for the region and providing updates to the business- via regular benchmarking reports 

* Ensure accurate business records in appropriate systems are kept.


* Maintain customer communication material on quality systems and act as the point person for communication to selected customers on FSQR related topics  5%

* Manage the certification documentation and make it available for inquiries 5%

Education, Experience, Skills

Required Qualifications

* A Degree in Food Science or relevant discipline

* Auditing qualifications in food safety, quality and environmental systems

* A minimum of 3-5five years in a quality or technical role within the food industry

* Knowledge of food safety and quality systems in a manufacturing environment

* Management experience, working in a matrix organization

* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

* Ability to work independently, be self motivated and proactive

* Contribute in a team environment through developing positive working relationships that are based on trust and integrity

* Commitment to performance excellence 

* Ability to prioritise tasks, use knowledge and initiative to problem solve promptly

Preferred Qualifications

* Auditor qualifications in food safety, quality and environmental systems

* Six Sigma training and experience
