The Assistant General Counsel position is responsible for handling a variety of business agreements and providing legal, compliance and regulatory counsel to Lundbeck’s US business units which are growing rapidly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Prepare, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including, managed markets, wholesaler and third party service agreements, etc.


* Support marketed pharmaceutical products and products in development providing substantive advice to the Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Clinical departments, concerning a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance issues, including, FDA regulations, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, OIG guidance, the PhRMA Code, the Sunshine Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and competition law in connection with product labeling, promotional and non-promotional activities, marketing strategies, sales compensation, government reimbursement, and interactions with healthcare professionals.


* Provide legal advice and assistance for the development of policies and training, and conduct training of newly hired employees


* Support supply chain operations in negotiating, developing and maintaining contractual relationships.  Identify and communicate issues and risks for agreements and collaborate and negotiate mitigation strategies.


* Resolve routine legal matters with minimal supervision as needed from more experienced attorneys


* Resolve complex legal issues on cross-functional projects and communicate solutions verbally and in writing to management


* Effectively communicate legal issues and risks to internal and external stakeholders regarding Lundbeck’s business and supported areas


* Keep abreast of changes in laws that affect client areas


* Represent Lundbeck externally to customers, suppliers, competitors or government agencies, as needed
