House Counsel Attorney II

Chubb's New York City New York House Counsel firm, Eustace, Marquez, Epstein, Prezioso & Yapchanyk is seeking an experienced and skilled New York litigator for the position of Casualty Attorney.

The Casualty Attorney will handle a caseload of the firm’s high exposure and complexity matters throughout the New York City, State and Federal Court venues.
 
Job Requirements:

The successful candidate must be an attorney licensed to practice before New York's State and Federal Courts, should possess  7 + years of demonstrated success in litigating a wide range of New York tort matters, and should possess the professional stature and business acumen needed to be a productive member of the firm. 

The successful candidate should also possess:
• Expertise litigating premises liability, construction site accidents, elevator accidents, motor vehicle liability, product liability, industrial accidents, municipal liability, contractual indemnity, wrongful death and complex medical and economic damages. 
• Enthusiasm and aptitude for trying cases to a jury, with demonstrated successful trial experience preferred.

 
• Deep knowledge of New York State and Federal Court procedural law, pleading, discovery, motion practice and pretrial techniques and strategies
• Advanced oral and written advocacy skills, with a demonstrated track record of summary judgment and/or appellate success. 
• Cutting edge knowledge of the substantive law applicable to New York casualty defense litigation, with advanced analytical skills needed to address complex legal issues.
• Proficiency in effectively and strategically communicating with clients, Claim Department customers and law firm colleagues regarding litigated matters.
• Demonstrated, deeply-ingrained enthusiasm and skills necessary to provide excellent customer service to clients, claim examiners, internal customers within firm
• The technological savvy to thrive as a litigator in a digital environment
• Strong team player willing to work effectively with others, at all levels and to step outside a
defined role where required to advance the firm’s business
• Ability to work independently, efficiently and carefully in a high volume environment
•    Excellent time management, organization and attention to detail
