House Counsel Legal Secretary
Musco & Iassogna, House Counsel for The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is currently seeking a Legal Secretary for its location in New Haven, Connecticut.

Skills: Qualified candidates must possess 3-5 years prior legal secretarial experience, excellent customer service, communication, writing and interpersonal skills and must demonstrate proficiency in software used by the firm including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Excel.

Strong typing and computer skills with the ability to prepare documents accurately and quickly is required.  The successful candidate must have excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Knowledge of litigation procedures including local, state and federal court filing rules are a must.
Responsibilities: The Legal Secretary will work independently with little direction from the attorneys and paralegals and will complete all assignments in a timely and efficient manner.  Will provide guidance to other support staff on the use of Prolaw and other software used by the firm and general policies and procedures utilized by the House Counsel Department.

Will prepare pleadings and documents for court filings, subpoenas, notices of deposition, notices of hearing and other pleadings in preparation for trial or early resolution of case.

Will prepare routine letters and documents, process and review incoming mail, faxes and e-mail and will be responsible for scanning and saving necessary documents.

The Legal Secretary will be responsible for editing and finalizing pleadings, motions and other correspondence as necessary.  Will be responsible for opening and closing matters in the Prolaw system and will coordinate the firm’s calendar.  Prolaw experience a plus but not required.
