Legal Counsel

Based in our new offices in Dhahran Techno Valley, this newly created position is an exciting opportunity for a Saudi National lawyer to join a global business as in-house Legal Counsel. 

You will be part of the Middle East & Africa legal team, dealing with a range of legal matters for our Saudi entity. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

* Negotiate and draft complex terms and conditions/contracts with our clients and support internal customers in preparing tenders and other commercial documentation

* Provide accurate and timely advice to internal customers on a range of legal and contract-related issues arising from various commercial agreements (e.g.

employment matters, complex technical projects, bid documentation, sales contracts & related documentation, licensing agreements, representative and distribution agreements, leases and corporate governance matters, etc.)

* Provide training on the company´s legal, ethical and contracting policies to sales managers, project managers, engineers etc.

* Ensure the company’s contracting policies are adhered to

* Assist your manager and other members of the MEA Law Department with the development and implementation of corporate policies, precedents,  contract audits and additional tasks as required

* Recognise and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson's Company Policy and Procedures

Occasional travel within the MEA region will be required

In order to be considered for this role you will be a Saudi National with a Bachelor's degree in Law and a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, preferably from the UK/US/Australia/Canada.  You will have worked either in-house for a multinational organization in a similar industry or in a commercial role in private practice.

You will have experience working with Saudi authorities (e.g.

MOCI, SAGIA), contract negotiations, a good working knowledge of local laws in Saudi (including employment laws and companies’ regulations), and preferably experience in compliance and corporate governance.


You will have excellent communication skills in English and Arabic (verbal & written), the ability to work well with internal and external customers under time pressure, be a team player but also be self-managed.
