Patient Safety Manager - Quality Assurance, Full Time, Days, 8 Hours

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the VP, Quality and Patient Safety, the Patient Safety Officer is responsible for development, implementation and oversight of house-wide patient safety tactics to support an error-free care experience and culture of high reliability for Mission Hospital’s and CHOC’s (CCMH) shared services patients.

Key functions include internal and external safety data, experience analysis and action planning, development and integration of key aspects of the hospital’s Patient Safety Plan, coordination of proactive performance improvement and educational activities related to patient safety.  This individual fulfills the role as the designated house-wide Patient Safety Officer according to the Hospital’s Patient Safety Plan.


Minimum Position Qualifications:



* Graduate of a school of nursing or like clinical degree 



* 5 years acute care clinical practice experience


License / Certification: 

* Current California RN license (or equivalent clinical license), CPHQ or CPPS preferred



* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point 


Preferred Position Qualifications:



* BSN preferred


* Exposure to quality management field preferred and passion for patient safety


* Training in PI and safety tools and techniques, as well as team dynamics and facilitation skills (will also provide on-the-job training)


License / Certification:
