Sr. PBX Technician

Location: Baltimore, MD

The Sr.

PBX Technician is responsible for performing intermediate to somewhat complex installation, maintenance, and change order services at customer locations on NEC systems, applications, and associated equipment, often in a lead role.

Escalates unresolved issues as appropriate.

Summary -

This position performs routine NEC PBX systems (SV8500, SV9300, SV9500, GNAV, QWORX, UM8700 VM, UM8000 VM , etc) installation, troubleshoots standard technical problems.

Conducts tests, and adjust/repairs equipment as necessary with minimal assistance.

Evaluates/repairs customer damaged systems, makes recommendations regarding test equipment upgrades/improvements.

Must be able to learn and work in every work station within the department.

Must have strong knowledge of reading part specifications, documentation, assembly drawings and procedures.

Assist in training technicians and assemblers.

Working daily on focus job moves, scanning/tracking customer orders and customer order pulling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

20% Building, testing, troubleshooting NEC PBX systems such as SV8500, SV9300, SV9500, software/hardware loading of servers and processing SV8XXX customer software job order by providing first class excellent customer service and effectively & timely presenting status, suggestions, issues, solutions and improvement to customers and managers

20% Must be able to read part specifications, documentations, assembly drawings and procedures.

20% Responsible for job moves, scanning/tracking customer orders, and pulling customer order picks.

10% Must be able to work in every work area within the Program Center.

10% Responsible for carrying the after hours emergency phone.

10% Assist in training technicians and assemblers as needed.

5% Able to make recommendations on procedural changes.

5% Perform other job duties as assigned.

Prerequisites -

Education:           Associate or Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics.

Experience:        Minimum of two years experience in a technical training school or a military school.

Knowledge of personal computer software/hardware operations is required including Lotus Notes, Microsoft office and Windows operating system.

Certifications, Licenses, etc:        PBX certification

Specialized Knowledge and Skills -

Language Skills:  Ability to read and write interacts professionally, sensitively and respectfully with individuals and groups to develop productive relationships that enhance quality service delivery.

Mathematical Skills:   Skilled in basic math application.
